Despite many worldwide efforts and measures to have an in-peace and safe earth, the number of people who have to flee are increasing day by day. The ones who had not a real idea of the word "Refugee" and its related challenges even in their most basic human rights such as safety and health. These challenges get more and harder if a child of family suffers from a severe illness such as cancer which means they need specific cares and attention.

In MAHAK, we believe in accessing to treatment and supportive with equality for every child regardless of race and nationality. Hence, during the past 30 years of work, MAHAK has provided treatment and support services for 2572 refugee children throughout the country with collaboration and cooperation of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

On June 20, which is marked as World Refugee Day, we hope for the day when all children suffering from cancer receive comprehensive, non-discriminative medical and support services as there should be no border for care and love.

Research shows a WISH can give kids the strength to fight against and even overcome a critical illness.
ISCC is proud to have partnered with Make a Wish foundation for the past ten years in granting wishes and bringing smiles to faces of children with cancer.

Five years old Nathan who has lymphoma is the most recent recipient of his wish. When a wish is granted, it creates hope, strength, and transformation.

Thank you for allowing us to be a beacon of hope for children with cancer. @makeawishamerica

May 19 is marked as the 9th anniversary of passing away of Prof. Parvaneh Vossough; a Precious scientist, compassionate physician and a devoted person. ISCC 14th Annual Nowruz Bazaar in Review:

ISCC’s 14th annual Nowruz Bazaar was a tremendous success. It took place over 17 days at our office location in Irvine. An overwhelming number of Shoppers joined us over the two weeks from most of Southern California. At this bazaar like previous years attendees could purchase, Haftseen Items, homemade Torshi, Moraba, Shirin, Premade Haftseens and decorative items. Numerous items were restocked several times due to selling out.

On Saturday and Sunday March 12th and 13th we expanded the shopping to a festival for children and adults, with live Music, Haji Firouz, children’s activities, food trucks and much more. Although up until few months prior to Nowruz we were not certain of the Covid situation we had made every effort to create a Covid friendly environment and continue our tradition of bring this Charitable, cultural event to our community and Southern California.

We are proud to announce through generosity of our supporters at this Bazaar we have raised treatment cost of over 70 Mahak Children.

On behalf of children of MAHAK and volunteers of ISCC, we thank the community for taking part in this year’s bazaar. Your support has allowed us to bring Nowruz to your homes and deliver the Beacon of HOPE for children with cancer and their families.
