Dr. Shirin Moussavi Ghafouri is a graduate of Tehran University School of Pharmacy. She was involved in drug quality control and lectured at the school of nursing in Iran. In the UK, she conducted research in homeopathic medications at Chelsea College, London University . In the US she has been working in the private sector.

Dr Ghafouri was involved in supporting Kahrizak Home for the Disabled and Elderly/ LCS, the Mother and Child Center after the devastating Roudbar earthquake of 1990, and the Tehran Girl's School for the Blind. She actively supports Yavari Cultural Society and has been intimately involved with MAHAK since its groundbreaking ceremonies in Tehran. Dr. Ghafouri continues to support MAHAK and ISCC with heartfelt dedication.
