Dr. Anoosha Ghodsi-Shirazi, MD, is a dedicated physician who embarked on her remarkable journey in the field of medicine. Born in Tehran, she pursued her passion for healthcare at a young age, graduating high school at the age of 16. Her educational path took her from Tehran to Chicago, where she began to shine academically.
Dr. Ghodsi earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois at Chicago, receiving the highest departmental distinction and becoming a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She continued to follow her passion for science, completing a Master of Science degree in Chemistry in 1994.
In 1998, she achieved her lifelong dream of becoming a medical doctor, graduating from The Chicago Medical School. Dr. Ghodsi's journey in medicine led her to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Saint Hospital in Chicago, where she proudly served as Chief Resident in 2002.
After her residency, Dr. Ghodsi practiced in a private group of OB/GYN specialists in Ohio for a few years. Her unwavering dedication to women's health eventually brought her to Southern California, where she joined Kaiser Permanente in 2006.
Since 2006, she has been board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and has honed her skills as a general and laparoscopic surgeon. Dr. Ghodsi's dedication and contributions to the field have been recognized with multiple "Top Doc" awards by San Diego Magazine.
Beyond her medical career, Dr. Ghodsi is deeply committed to the well-being of women and children. She serves as the co-director of the Maternal Wellness Program at Kaiser Permanente in San Diego.
Outside of work, Dr. Ghodsi, along with her family, has been actively involved in volunteer work and support for the ISCC (International Society for Children with Cancer) for many years. Dr. Anoosha Ghodsi-Shirazi, MD, brings a personal touch and unwavering commitment to her practice and community, embodying the values of humility and compassionate care.
